Max the Elf is the rare adult game whose community thread is as entertaining as the game itself. T-Hoodie’s Unity-built action romp stars Max, a cherubic elf boy whose job is to reach the end of each level while every monster, fae, and tentacle along the way tries — usually successfully — to have their way with him. It has been running for years, and the v6.03 build shows a project still very much alive: a new tentacle enemy fix for level 3, a zoom fix for the Fae boss fight, a freshly added Linux version, and new enemies like “Devi the Star” teased in monthly Patreon updates.

The appeal starts with the animation. T-Hoodie’s cartoon style is bouncy, expressive, and completely unashamed of what it is — closer to a naughty Saturday-morning cartoon than the stiff 3DCG that dominates the genre. Levels are short gauntlets with light platforming and dodging, punctuated by boss encounters that double as the game’s set-piece scenes. Passwords and cheat codes ship right in the readme, a very T-Hoodie touch: the game wants you to see its content, not grind for it.

The community around the game is its own phenomenon. The thread’s running joke — “it isn’t gay if you can’t see it, just close your eyes” — captures the self-aware tone, and it’s telling that when a leaker posted a new build early, regulars pushed back: “the ‘Hero’ should wait at least a month so T-Hoodie can make some money from his hard work.” Players policing piracy on F95zone to protect a developer is about the highest praise an adult game can earn. The 3.9/5 community score across 56 votes lands exactly where we do: very good, not flawless.

Max the Elf boss fight

The flaws are mostly technical. The game launches in a fixed 1280x720 window, and getting fullscreen requires adding launch flags — documented, but clunky in 2026. And the niche is the niche: this is femboy-focused, male-on-male content with a monster-heavy bent. The thread’s regulars wouldn’t have it any other way.

Verdict: charming, horny, technically scrappy, and supported by a developer who clearly loves making it. In a niche with real search demand and few quality options, Max the Elf is the standard.

  • +Still actively updated after years — v6.03 fixed the level 3 tentacle enemy and added a Linux build
  • +A beloved dev and one of the friendliest, funniest communities on F95zone

Cons

  • Forced 1280x720 window — fullscreen requires launch-flag workarounds the readme documents
  • Extremely specific niche: if femboy-on-monster action isn't your thing, nothing here will convert you
