Wizard School v0.8.85 Released
Blue Witch Games has shipped version 0.8.85 of Wizard School Exchange Student, the long-running Harry Potter-inspired adult sandbox. The patch is available now for Windows.
The headline addition is a pool party event set in the abandoned tower bathroom — organised by fellow students and gated behind Ginny’s invitation. It slots into the existing cast-interaction framework and offers new scenes for returning players who have been working through the school’s social circuit.
Beyond that event, the update distributes new content more broadly across the map. The developer describes the approach as spreading things out differently compared to earlier content patches:
“Things are split out a little more around the map. There are more slice-of-events that are unlocked as the game progresses — some of them related to items, some of them just unlocked after specific events/days.”
This means exploration pays off more than before, with content surfacing organically rather than arriving in a single location dump.
There is one important prerequisite flag for anyone jumping back in after a break: the Newspaper quest must be at its final stage — the one that reads “wait for new leads” — before triggering the new “It Begins” content. Attempting that content out of order risks progression issues, so check your quest log before diving in.
At v0.8.85, the game is well into its final stretch, and the steady stream of content patches suggests Blue Witch Games is committed to seeing it through.
