Town of Magic v0.76 Released
Town of Magic, Deimus’s long-running fantasy sandbox RPG, has shipped version 0.76.000 DEV — and the headline addition reshapes how combat plays out across the entire game.
The update introduces a full status ailment system, as described in the developer’s patch notes:
“Ailments – Instill status ailments such as poison, paralysis, petrification, and much more! Careful as enemies may do the same and leave you exposed!”
That last line matters. Ailments cut both ways — players can now inflict debilitating conditions on enemies, but encounters become more dangerous as foes hit back with the same tools. It’s a meaningful layer of tactical depth for a game that already features turn-based combat, and it opens the door for enemy types built around specific ailment strategies.
For newcomers: Town of Magic puts players in control of a female protagonist exploring a richly built fantasy world full of monsters, monster girls, and morally complex encounters. The 2D animated art holds up well, and the point-and-click sandbox structure has sustained an active community for years. The game supports English, German, Polish, and Russian, running on Windows.
Version 0.76 ships as a DEV build, giving Patreon supporters first access ahead of a wider public rollout. With the ailment system now in place, Deimus appears to be building toward a more complete combat loop — one where preparation and status management matter as much as raw progression.
