Nota Bao has pushed New Life Project v0.9.easter, a seasonally titled update to the long-running text-based life simulator arriving right on cue ahead of Easter weekend. The version name alone signals that this isn’t a routine patch — there’s new holiday-flavored content tucked into an update that also takes care of some lingering technical housekeeping.
New Life Project is a Twine-based sandbox where you guide a female protagonist through an open-ended life simulation. The game earns its breadth through sheer volume of interlocking systems: jobs, relationships, corruption mechanics, and a sprawling set of routes covering everything from romance and cheating to more explicit paths including interracial content, lesbian encounters, and pregnancy. At v0.9, it’s one of the more feature-complete entries still in active development, and the .easter suffix suggests the developer hasn’t lost the appetite for creative milestones.
On the technical side, this update includes a fix for a disproportionate image in the Asylum shower scene — a cosmetic issue, but the kind of visual inconsistency that pulls you out of the moment when you hit it. More meaningfully for performance, file size and passage load times have been trimmed by wrapping certain end-of-passage elements in <<silent>>…<</silent>> macros, reducing redundant processing on the Twine engine side. The Cars section also received organizational attention, keeping the ever-expanding content map navigable.
New content lives under the Cars section, giving players new situational encounters to discover during regular play. The Easter update keeps things timely without disrupting the existing save structure, so current players can pick it up without starting over.
With the game approaching v1.0 territory, each update at this stage is shaping the final form of a project that’s been quietly building one of the more ambitious tag lists in the text-based adult VN space.
