Family Trouble v0.9.69 Released
Family Trouble, the sprawling 3DCG sandbox from Goth Girl Games, has reached version 0.9.69 — putting the long-running project tantalizingly close to its v1.0 milestone. The update is now available across Windows, Linux, Mac, and Android.
The headline technical change this release is a switch from PNG to lossless WebM for animations. The developer explained the reasoning directly to backers:
“I know most of you guys voted for PNG, but I found a way to make a lossless WebM, similar to what huge games have been using. So, I decided to test it. This update will use it, and you guys will have a chance to vote again. If you notice the image quality got worse (I couldn’t notice, really), we will revert to PNG as I have everything backed up.”
The format shift aims to deliver the same visual fidelity at a reduced file size — a meaningful quality-of-life improvement for a title whose breadth of content has always come with a hefty download. Players will get another vote on the format after testing, keeping the community involved in the decision.
On the story side, this update puts the question of whether Hel is a Dom or a Sub front and center, advancing one of the game’s more distinctive character arcs. Family Trouble’s branching, player-driven corruption routes have long been a standout feature, and the new animated scenes continue that tradition.

The game’s scope remains one of the most expansive in the genre — sandbox exploration, turn-based combat, a school setting, supernatural elements, harem routes, and a cast with individually tracked corruption paths all coexist in a single package. With v0.9.69 now shipped, a full v1.0 release looks closer than ever.
